Position Title: Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)

Salary: $86,000 - $90,000
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Teacher who is passionate about
delivering high-quality early childhood care and education. The successful candidate will be
responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating educational programs for preschool and pre-
primary aged children, while also contributing to age-appropriate learning experiences within the
broader early learning environment. The role requires a qualified Early Childhood Teacher who can
lead curriculum planning, support children’s language, literacy, social, emotional, cognitive and
physical development, and work collaboratively with families and educators.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The Early Childhood Teacher will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration across classrooms and outdoor learning spaces;
- Use a wide variety of learning tools, play materials, and hands-on activities to nurture children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth;
- Support communication and early literacy by incorporating rich language experiences such as storytelling, dramatic play, music, rhymes, and everyday conversation;
- Closely monitor and document each child’s engagement, progress, and wellbeing to inform future planning and ensure individual learning needs are met;
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes healthy routines,
positive behaviours, and children’s overall welfare;
- Collaborate with families to share insights, celebrate achievements, and work together on strategies that enhance each child’s learning journey;
- Participate in team meetings, professional learning sessions, and WeKidz initiatives to contribute to a collaborative and reflective teaching culture;
- Take part in community engagement projects that strengthen connections between WeKidz, families, and the wider community;
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to student educators, modelling professional practice and reflective teaching approaches.
Qualifications:
The following skills and qualifications are required to fulfil the role:
- Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent Early Childhood Teaching qualification;
- Have at least three years’ experience educating and caring for children within the birth – 5 years age group
- Have current, approved Working with Children Check
- Current teacher accreditation/registration, where required, and evidence of ACECQA approved qualification
- First Aid Certification
Essential Skills:
- Have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and the National Regulations.
- Have the ability to develop warm and respectful relationships with children and families
- Be computer literate as we provide electronic programming & portfolios
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
- Ability to plan and implement educational programs
- Competence in health and safety procedures
