We are partnering with a well-established organisation with a close-knit finance team that partners closely with operations. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to cover a 7‑month period of parental leave and support a busy finance function.

You will work with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate reporting and smooth day-to-day financial operations.

What's the role?
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L;, balance sheet and cash flow)
- Month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Variance analysis and engagement with stakeholders to support business performance
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and year-end requirements
- Preparation of BAS, FBT and other statutory obligations
- Payroll-related reconciliations including payroll tax and workers compensation
- Supporting invoicing, payments and cash flow reporting
- Maintaining financial systems and contributing to process improvements

and adding value quickly in a contract role. You will likely bring:

- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Confidence stepping into a contract and picking things up quickly
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across different finance systems
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders at different levels
- Experience within multi-entity or more complex environments will be highly regarded
