We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team, supporting two young participants in Northern Sydney (Ryde area).

This is a specialised role suited to someone who is confident working with non-verbal children, experienced in managing challenging behaviours, and able to provide consistent, high-quality, relationship-focused support.

About the Role
You will be providing 1:1 support to participants who are non-verbal and require structured, attentive, and engaging care. This role requires a support worker who can confidently take initiative, remain composed under pressure, and build strong, trusting relationships over time.

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering engaging, play-based support aligned with each participant’s interests

- Supporting communication using non-verbal strategies (e.g. gestures, visuals, AAC where applicable)

- Confidently and safely responding to challenging behaviours

- Actively supporting skill development and progression toward individual goals

- Assisting with community access and structured in-home routines

- Providing personal care, including toileting and showering

Shift Availability
Applicants must be available for a minimum of 2 of the following shifts:

- Monday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm

- Tuesday: 4:00pm – 6:15pm

- Wednesday: 2:00pm – 5:00pm

- Friday: 3:00pm – 7:00pm

Additional hours available on weekends and during school holidays.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings both experience and the right approach. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

- Proven experience supporting non-verbal participants

- Robust experience managing challenging behaviours in a safe and proactive manner

- A naturally engaging, playful approach and the ability to connect through participant-led activities

- A transparent understanding of skill-building and goal-focused support

- Consistency, reliability, and emotional maturity

- The ability to follow structure while adapting in the moment

- Confidence working independently with a high level of accountability

This is not a suitable role for entry-level applicants.

Essential Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check (WWCC)

- First Aid & CPR

- Valid driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle

Preferred:

- Relevant qualifications (or working towards) in Disability, Community Services, or a related field

What Sets This Role Apart

- Consistent, ongoing shifts with additional hours available

- A structured, well-supported environment with clear expectations

- The opportunity to make a meaningful, long-term impact

- A team that values professionalism, consistency, and quality of care

If you are an experienced support worker who takes pride in delivering high-quality, consistent care — and you’re confident working within a more complex support environment — we encourage you to apply.
