About the role

Perilya is seeking a Geotechnical Data Administration Assistant to support our underground mining operations at Broken Hill. This role is critical to ensuring geotechnical information is accurate, current, compliant, and readily available to support operational decision-making, safety outcomes, and regulatory obligations.

Working closely with our Geotechnical Engineers, this position is ideally suited to someone with strong data management, documentation control, and quality assurance skills, ideally gained in a mining or heavy industry workplace.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Geotechnical team, your duties will include:

- Maintaining and updating geotechnical databases, spreadsheets, and monitoring systems

- Entering, validating, and maintaining underground inspection, mapping, seismic, instrumentation,



and QAQC data

- Document control for geotechnical standards, TARPs, GCMPs, PHMPs, procedures, and supporting evidence

- Uploading, organising, and archiving geotechnical photos, laser scans, drill logs, and ground support records

- Tracking rehabilitation progress, ground support installation records, and QAQC results

- Assisting with preparation of weekly, monthly, and statutory geotechnical reports

- Collating information for regulator responses, audits, and inspections

- Maintaining monitoring records for seismicity, extensometers, convergence monitoring, piezometers, and other instrumentation

- Coordinating filing and distribution of ground support designs, excavation inspections, and geotechnical memos

- Assisting with scheduling and tracking underground inspections, hazard reviews, and follow-up actions

- Supporting dashboards, trend analysis, and KPI tracking for geotechnical performance

- Managing contractor and consultant documentation, including QAQC certificates and technical reports

- Supporting archive management and retrieval of historical geotechnical information

- Liaising closely with Survey, Planning, Mining, Ventilation, and Operations teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting

- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring documentation meets company and regulatory retention standards

Key focus areas at Perilya

In addition to general geotechnical data administration, the role will be heavily involved in:

- QAQC tracking for fibrecrete,



cable bolts, split sets, and pull testing

- GCMP and PHMP evidence management

- Regulator action tracking and document alignment

- IMS seismic data handling and event reporting support

- Rehabilitation tracking and closure evidence compilation

- Ground support standard version control and audit traceability

About you

You will ideally bring:

- Experience in data administration, document control, or technical support within mining or heavy industry

- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of data integrity

- Confidence working with spreadsheets, databases, and document management systems

- Understanding of QAQC processes and compliance-driven environments

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines

- Robust communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across site departments

- A commitment to safety, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance

Previous exposure to geotechnical, underground mining, or regulatory reporting environments will be highly regarded.
