Build and lead a current automation division in Australia

This isn’t a plug-and-play sales role.

It’s an opportunity to step into a foundational position with a global engineering business and build their automation capability in Australia from the ground up.

You’ll own the full lifecycle. From winning work, to designing solutions, to delivering projects. If you’ve been looking for a role where you can combine commercial thinking with technical depth, this is it. You’ll be based in Sydney and working from a home office.

The Opportunity

An established multinational specialising in automation, motion, and control technologies across industrial markets is launching their automation division in Australia, and this role will be the first key hire.

You’ll have the autonomy to:

· Shape how the business approaches the local market

· Build relationships with key clients and partners

· Influence solution design and delivery strategy

· Grow into a leadership role as the division scales

The Role

This is a true end-to-end position where you will:

· Develop new business and grow existing accounts

· Identify opportunities and scope tailored automation solutions

· Prepare proposals and close work

· Manage projects from concept through to delivery

· Work closely with engineering teams locally and globally

· Get hands-on with installs, commissioning,



and support when required

· Robotics & Cobots

About You

You’re likely someone who enjoys both the commercial and technical sides of engineering.

· Background in engineering or a technical trade

· Experience in automation, controls, robotics, or similar

· Proven ability to win and develop business

· Comfortable managing projects and multiple priorities

· Happy to stay hands-on when needed, not just sit behind a desk

Most importantly, you’re motivated by the idea of building something, not just maintaining it.
