Join Box Hill Institute in an exciting opportunity as our Senior Lecturer - Hospitality Management within the College of Higher Education. Reporting to the Academic Course Manager, this role provides academic leadership across teaching, curriculum and scholarly practice within the Hospitality Management discipline.

As a senior academic, you will lead high-quality, student-centred teaching and oversee curriculum design, assessment practices and delivery quality at course level. You will mentor teaching staff, contribute to scholarly activity, and ensure learning experiences are industry-aligned, contemporary and compliant with higher education standards.

This is an ongoing, part-time position, primarily based at our Nelson Campus. The salary ranges from $119,531 to $123,284 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) plus 12% superannuation.

About you:

You are an experienced higher education academic with strong discipline expertise in hospitality management and a passion for academic leadership. You bring demonstrated experience in course leadership, curriculum design and teaching in a higher education environment.

Your approach to teaching and leadership is collaborative, inclusive and student-focused. You are confident applying contemporary pedagogy, leading assessment and quality assurance processes, and building strong relationships with industry and internal stakeholders. You actively contribute to scholarly teaching and learning and support the career development of colleagues.

Key responsibilities

- Provide academic leadership across Hospitality Management programs
- Lead and enhance curriculum design, delivery and assessment practices
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching and supervise teaching teams
- Mentor academic staff and support teaching capability development
- Contribute to scholarly teaching and learning activities
- Build and maintain strong industry and community partnerships
- Ensure compliance with academic quality, governance and integrity requirements

Qualifications and experience

- AQF Level 9 qualification (Master's) in a relevant discipline; PhD desirable




- Demonstrated experience teaching in the Australian higher education sector
- Proven experience in curriculum leadership, assessment and quality assurance
- Strong understanding of contemporary higher education pedagogy and policy
- Ability to lead teams and contribute to academic governance and scholarship
