The Opportunity
This role plays a hands-on part in maintaining and enhancing Noosa’s vital civil infrastructure while contributing to a community that values its natural environment and lifestyle. It involves varied outdoor work across roads, drainage, bridges, foreshore areas and public spaces, where practical skills, teamwork and a strong commitment to safety are used to deliver high quality day to day maintenance and construction outcomes.

- Position Remuneration - LGEA Level 4 + Construction Workers Allowance $73,382 base annual salary ($83,295 total remuneration package which is based on a permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading).

About You
You are a reliable and safety-focused worker with practical experience or transferable skills in civil maintenance, construction or outdoor labouring environments. You work well as part of a team, follow instructions, and take pride in delivering quality work on time, while maintaining a solid commitment to workplace health and safety and service to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of hands-on civil construction and maintenance activities, including roads, drainage, concreting and public infrastructure works
- Operate tools, plant, equipment and vehicles safely, reporting maintenance or safety issues as required
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver work programs to set quality and time standards
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, Council procedures and customer service expectations
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in civil maintenance, construction, landscaping, horticulture or similar hands-on outdoor work, or demonstrated ability to perform physical labouring tasks
- Ability to safely use mechanical and hand-held tools, plant and equipment relevant to civil works
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions and complete tasks within required timeframes
- Sound awareness of workplace health and safety requirements, with a strong commitment to working safely in operational environments
Qualifications and Licences
- Certificate II in Civil Construction, Horticulture or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card) or the ability to obtain prior to commencement
- Current C Class driver licence
- MR licence, or the ability and willingness to obtain within three months of appointment
- Additional relevant licences or tickets (e.g. plant, machinery or handheld equipment) are desirable
