The Opportunity
This role provides a hands-on opportunity to support the delivery and maintenance of Noosa’s civil infrastructure through the safe operation of trucks and associated plant, combined with general construction and maintenance activities. It involves wide-ranging outdoor work across roads, drainage, signage and public assets, contributing to high-quality outcomes that support community safety, liveability and Council service delivery.

- Position Remuneration - LGEA Level 4 + Construction Workers Allowance $73,382 base annual salary ($83,295 total remuneration package which is based on a permanent full-time employee and inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading).

About You
You are a safety focused and reliable worker with experience driving and operating heavy vehicles in civil or construction environments. You take pride in operating plant and equipment responsibly, working as part of a team, and contributing hands on to the delivery of quality civil maintenance and construction outcomes that support the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate rigid trucks and associated plant, including loading, unloading and transporting materials in compliance with road and load-restraint regulations
- Undertake general civil construction and maintenance tasks such as roadworks, drainage, concreting and signage installation
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they are clean, serviceable and free from defects, reporting issues as required
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver scheduled works safely,
efficiently and to required quality standards
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience safely operating heavy rigid vehicles and associated plant in civil, construction or operational environments
- Sound knowledge of road rules, load restraint requirements and safe driving practices
- Ability to undertake general civil construction and maintenance tasks, including roads, drainage, concreting and signage works
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow directions and meet quality and time standards
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
- Physical capability to undertake outdoor work involving manual handling, lifting, bending and climbing
Qualifications and Licences
- Current HR Class driver licence
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Electrical Awareness Training (desirable)
- Traffic Management Implementation certification (desirable)
- Additional relevant plant, machinery or safety tickets will be well regarded
