$84,907.13 - $92,970.80 plus superannuation, housing, vehicle and district allowances (if eligible) is available to the successful candidate, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.

We’re looking for a sharp and dedicated Finance Officer to join our team here at the Shire of Carnarvon. This is a hands-on role where you’ll do more than just manage numbers; you’ll ensure the Shire remains compliant, transparent and delivers a high-quality service.

n

You’ll be the go-to for a diverse range of functions—from creditors and debtors to rates and finance support—all while keeping integrity and precision at the core of your work. It’s about more than just checking boxes and meeting statutory obligations; it’s about providing the critical support our team needs to thrive where the outback meets the coast.

Working closely with our Finance Manager, you’ll help shape our auditing and procurement processes, making a real impact on how we meet our strategic goals.

About You

n

You’ll bring

n

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting & Financen

- Highly developed, strong organisational skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.

n

- Demonstrated experience in financial administration, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and debt recovery with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and guidelines

n

- Advanced computer skills with experience with Microsoft Suite,



particularly Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word, Nitro and Synergy (or ability to learn Synergy).

n

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

n

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgement in handling sensitive financial information.n
