About Our School
St Mary’s Primary School is situated in the historic Queensland provincial city of Ipswich, 45 km from Brisbane CBD. Our beautiful, historical architecture of sandstone buildings are a visual reminder that quality Catholic Education has been delivered on our site for over 150 years. We are a co-educational school with a current enrolment of 575 students from Prep through to Year 6. The dedicated teaching and support staff endeavour to provide high quality, inclusive education by providing engaging learning activities that support not only students' academic advancement but also their personal growth based upon a Catholic Christian tradition. Commencing February, 2026
- Work hours: 24 permanent and underlying hours with a variation to increase to 32.5 in 2026 to be negotiated on a yearly basis

About The Opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for students including the use technology and learning support activities
- Monitoring the progress of students and identifying learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies
- Improving student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services
- Documenting observation notes, intervention programs and assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials
About You
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Strong skills in planning, preparing, and delivering effective teaching programs
- Ability to monitor student progress and apply evidence-based interventions
- Expertise in supporting diverse learning needs to improve student outcomes
- Collaborative skills to work with specialists and coordinate intervention groups
- Proficient in documenting observations, managing intervention programs, and preparing classroom materials
- Certificate III in Education Support
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement
