Our operations span the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter, North West and New England regions, with branches located at Lisarow, Charmhaven, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Armidale and Cardiff.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Branch Manager to lead our BJ Howes Metaland Cardiff branch, servicing the Newcastle and Hunter region.

Reporting directly to the East Coast Sales & Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the overall performance, operations and leadership of the branch. The ideal candidate will have industry experience and strong product knowledge gained within tool sales, welding, steel, or a similar trade-based sales environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Full responsibility for the overall operations and performance of the Cardiff branch

- Lead, direct and support the Customer Service team, including:

- Work allocation and scheduling

- Goal setting and performance reviews

- Coaching, training and problem resolution

- Deliver outstanding customer service, including:

- Counter sales and quoting





- Maintaining and growing customer relationships

- Lead generation and follow-up

- Training and mentoring staff

- Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction

- Manage all aspects of stock control, including:

- Ordering and stock levels

- Warehousing and merchandising

- Logistics and inventory accuracy

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Proven ability to manage and lead a team to achieve robust results

- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to train, motivate and inspire others

- High level of computer literacy, including experience with:

- Inventory Management Systems

- POS software

- Strong time management and organisational skills

- Solid understanding of the operational requirements of a medium-sized business

- Ability to work effectively across the business and with external stakeholders

- Results-driven, with the ability to work autonomously and within a team

- Product knowledge across key categories is highly regarded but not essential
