The role:

As a Senior Community Compliance Officer, you will have an active hands‑on role that actively participates in field‑based duties that protect public safety, environmental quality and community amenity, and at the same time supports the team by providing specialist operational leadership, expert regulatory advice and coordination of complex investigations and enforcement activities.

You will support operational decision‑making, lead complex and sensitive investigations, provide expert technical advice, and exercise delegated regulatory authority across a range of legislation. You will also support and mentor Community Compliance Officers, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and represent Council in legal proceedings when required.

MOA Level 6 - $108,127 - $115,285 + Super + Community Compliance Hours Agreement loading (subject to review) + commuter use vehicle

Key responsibility

- Work within a team environment to administer and enforce relevant legislation, regulations and Council By‑Laws, exercising a high level of autonomy, judgement and discretion in complex and sensitive matters.
- Lead and coordinate complex investigations, enforcement programmes and high‑risk compliance matters.
- Provide expert specialist advice and act as the senior escalation point for the compliance team.
- Prepare, review and authorise investigation briefs, reports and court documentation;
- Analyse community safety trends to support data‑driven decision‑making and strategic planning.




- Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures, programmes and operational initiatives.
- Support and mentor staff to strengthen capability, professionalism and alignment with Council values.
- Participate in after‑hours and weekend work as required under the Community Compliance Hours Agreement.
- Ensure high standards of WHS, customer service, records management and operational integrity.

Skill & Competencies:

- Degree, Associate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Local Government, Regulatory Services or a related discipline, with substantial relevant experience
- Strong investigative skills, including evidence gathering, interviews, brief preparation and court presentation.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with relevant legislation
- Current Class C driver's licence.
