Functions and Events Account Manager - Sandown – an exciting full‑time permanent role in our Commercial Department located at Sportsbet Sandown Racecourse . We’re looking for an account manager who brings energy, inspires the team, and believes great results come from putting people first while having a bit of fun along the way. You’ll be at the heart of the action, turning enquiries into confirmed bookings and overseeing events from planning to pack‑down, working closely with clients and internal teams to create events people genuinely enjoy, while keeping a sharp eye on commercial outcomes. Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is an iconic sporting and entertainment organisation with a proud 150‑year legacy. We’re renowned for hosting elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, and also offer vibrant events, functions, and 15 Pegasus Leisure Group hospitality venues across Victoria, along with community initiatives through the MRC Foundation.

In The Saddle

- Be the friendly first point of contact for all Non‑Race Day enquiries at Sportsbet Sandown, responding quickly and professionally.
- Create standout proposals and accurate quotes, working closely with Operations to bring ideas to life.




- Keep the Non‑Race Day booking calendar rolling, teaming up with internal departments for smooth operations.
- Ensure timely information flow – from initial enquiry to the big day.
- Join weekly Event Order meetings to keep everyone aligned.
- Stay connected with contractors so they’re ready for every booking.
- Take prospective clients on site visits to showcase Sportsbet Sandown.
- Help retain and grow Functions & Events business, including contract renewals, to meet sales targets.

Your Track Record

- At least 2 years’ experience in events or sales, ideally in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.
- Confidence in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Strong eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills across teams and stakeholders.
- Natural problem‑solver with analytical skills.
