We’re on the hunt for our next dynamic Assistant Manager to join the leadership team at Varsity Lakes Tavern , the ultimate destination for locals to eat, drink, and play.

Varsity Lakes Tavern is a high-volume powerhouse, known for its massive family‑friendly bistro, vibrant sports bar, and high‑performing gaming room. Located in the heart of a thriving community, this venue is always on the move. We need a hands‑on leader who can balance the energy of a busy shift with the professionalism required to keep a large‑scale operation running like clockwork.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager

- Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
- Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a outstanding vibe
- Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
- Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
- Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements

This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g., moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you





- You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
- You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
- You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
- You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager License as per state requirements
