Territory Sales Manager - North-East Vic Animal Health
The Opportunity

Permanent Full-Time role based North-East, Victoria
Manage a large and diverse territory as the Territory Sales Manager
Use your technical sales expertise to engage with customers in relation to our large ruminant product range
The primary responsibility of the Territory Sales Manager is to profile, promote, and maximize sales of the company’s range of Over-the-Counter (OTC) BioPharma and ID products for Production Animals (predominantly Cattle & Sheep) to End Users (Primary Producers) through Distribution (Customer)
intermediaries in a defined Rural Territory, as well as to provide backup co-operation for products relating to RUBU AU’s Technology SBU or other company Animal Health Business Units.
Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to liaise with End Users, Rural Retail Store Managers and Staff, Local Veterinarians and Agricultural Department personnel;
attendance at Conferences, preparation and delivery of Technical Training Events, Technical detailing of company products to Producers, and assistance in the planning and implementation of marketing and product promotions.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to :
The Territory Sales Manager sits within the BioPharma + ID Sub-Business Unit of the local Ruminant Business Unit within the country’s Animal Health organization and reports to the Regional Sales Manager or Regional Sales Supervisor
Our organisations Animal Health operates within the pharmaceutical industry, which in Australia is both highly regulated and very competitive.
The success of this role and our organisation largely depends on our ability to build mutually beneficial customer & consumer relationships and optimise market share within the categories in which we have an offering.
The organisation’s and your success also depends on a high level of market penetration and effective management of emerging and existing customers.
This requires a high level of coordination between End Users, Customers, Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders.
In conjunction with the respective Regional Sales Manager, execute sell-in strategies to Distributors / Partners to maintain stock levels to meet local demand and promote Key Account-specific marketing strategies
Execute sell-out strategies via partnerships with local Rural Distributors & other Territory Influencers
Ensure that all Brand Campaigns are well executed in the Territory (including effective dissemination of Point-of-Sales material) with the goal of maximizing sales of the promoted brands.
This includes all sales, marketing, and technical aspects of each campaign
Provide Technical and Product Training to Distributor staff and undertake On-Farm calling in tandem, or individually, on local Livestock Primary Producers to sell the company’s range of solutions and products
Identify and recommend additional product and market opportunities
Maintain and report information on local market intelligence
What You Must Have
Tertiary qualified preferred (Life Science + Commercial qualification ideal)
Relevant commercial experience in a Sales’ related role (Life Science related industry ideal)
Demonstrable Sales’ skills and Commercial’ acumen
Key Account management experience an advantage
Highly developed skills in negotiating, influencing, and establishing collaborative relationships
Familiarity with Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) systems and willingness to embrace routine utilization of such
Sound Territory management skills including competent time management, effective prioritisation, unambiguous objective setting, efficient call planning, disciplined call recording, & routine sales tracking ( Actual’ v Budget’)
Ability to work autonomously within a diverse industry sector, and often in geographical isolation, but remain a collaborative Team Member
Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills using contemporary IT platforms.
Capacity be part of a Team despite physical isolation from other Team Members and Head Office Support Staff
Ability to analyse sales data and interpret market trends
