About the role

GPC has a unique permanent placement opportunity to work as part of their dedicated Process Control Systems team as a Specialist Infrastructure Systems Engineer, reporting to the Process Control Superintendent and surrounded by a talented multi-disciplinary team.

This role is responsible for providing specialist guidance for the implementation, support and monitoring of all hardware & software infrastructure systems which form part of the Process Control Systems (PCS) environments within GPC.

The successful candidate for this role will :

- Provide troubleshooting & support services to front line Electrical & Operation team members;

- Deliver high level technical advice, escalation and support services to GPC’s 24 / 7 business;

- Implement total life cycle management of all process control systems;

- Provide specialist systems engineering expertise to PCS team members as well as others in the business, by providing coaching, guidance, advice and recommendations on business activities; and

- Lead direct reports and model behaviours that develop the team culture so it aligns GPC Values with asset management value drivers and safety culture.

About you

It is essential for the job holder to demonstrate experience and / or knowledge in the following :

- Leading small teams and experience in the management of contractors (preferably supported by formal qualification);

- Tertiary qualification(s) in IT / Electrical / Control Systems engineering (degree level) or relevant equivalent experience in industry with supporting formal training / qualifications.

Having an electrical trade will be highly regarded along with OEM specific qualifications; and

Knowledge and skills in project management, including methodologies and supporting tools.

It is highly desirable that the incumbent is able to demonstrate experience and / or knowledge (including through formal training) in the following areas :

- Project management activities / methodologies;

- Business improvement methodologies;

- Change management activities / methodologies; and

- Delivering work in accordance with ISO-55000 asset management framework.
