About the role:
We’re working with a financial markets technology business that operates front-office trading and post-trade platforms supporting execution, clearing and settlement at scale

This is a highly technical application support role - not functional support, not service desk. You’ll be supporting cloud-native, microservices-based trading systems running in AWS, sitting close to front-office technology and core market infrastructure. You’ll act as a technical second-line support function, investigating issues across application behaviour, data, performance and system interactions.

What’s a typical day look like?

- Providing technical L2/L3 application support for trading and post-trade platforms
- Investigating incidents using logs, metrics and monitoring tools
- Supporting deployments and release cycles
- Working closely with SRE, infrastructure and development teams
- Using SQL to investigate data issues and system behaviour
- Contributing to incident, problem and root cause analysis
- Supporting an on-call roster (shared)

About you:

- Strong background in technical application or production support




- Solid understanding of AWS-hosted application environments
- Comfortable working with microservices and distributed systems
- Scripting/ Automation experience - PowerShell, Bash, Python etc
- Solid SQL skills for production investigation
- Working knowledge of ITIL, particularly incident and problem management
- Supported CI/CD pipelines and deployments

Nice to have:

- FIX protocol exposure
- Understanding of low-latency or high frequency environments
- Infrastructure or Terraform awareness (not hands-on day to day)
