About the Role

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the community’s residential housing portfolio. The successful applicant will oversee tenancy management, property compliance, maintenance coordination, contractor supervision, and budget control to ensure properties are maintained to a high and safe standard.

The position requires regular travel to and from Mount Burgess (Kurrawang Community), so the ability to reliably commute is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage residential tenancies in accordance with WA legislation and community policy

- Conduct routine inspections, entry/exit reports, and compliance checks

- Coordinate and oversee reactive and cyclical maintenance programs

- Engage and manage trades and contractors to ensure timely, cost-effective works

- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets and property expenditure

- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules

- Maintain accurate records within property management systems (experience with PropertyMe highly regarded)

- Build respectful, culturally appropriate relationships with tenants and community members

- Work collaboratively with community leadership and administration and future assistant

Essential Criteria





- Demonstrated experience in residential property management

- Experience working within Aboriginal communities or remote/community housing environments

- Strong understanding of cyclical and reactive maintenance management

- Experience coordinating trades, contractors, and service agreements

- Budget management experience

- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement

- Current driver’s licence and ability to commute to Mount Burgess

Highly Regarded

- Experience using PropertyMe or similar property management software

- Knowledge of community housing frameworks and funding compliance

- Understanding of culturally responsive housing practices
