About the Role

Are you organised, proactive and confident supporting animal health enquiries?

Animal Welfare League SA (AWL) is seeking a Foster Care and Clinic Liaison Assistant to support the coordination of our Foster Care and Rescue Group program and act as an important link between foster carers, the veterinary clinic and animal care teams.

In this hands-on and collaborative role, you will help triage health enquiries for animals in foster care, support foster carers with guidance and training, coordinate placements for animals, and maintain accurate records. Your work will help ensure animals receive timely care while supporting foster carers to provide safe, loving temporary homes.

Key Responsibilities

- Triage incoming health and welfare concerns for animals in foster care and determine when veterinary escalation is required.

- Liaise with veterinary and animal care teams to support effective case management.

- Provide guidance and training to foster carers on recognising signs of good and poor animal health.

- Coordinate the placement of animals into foster care or rescue group arrangements.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

- Experience supporting animal health triage,



veterinary clinic support, or similar animal care environments

- Strong understanding of common companion animal health conditions and appropriate escalation pathways

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accurate record keeping

- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and coordinate volunteers

- Effective time management and organisational skills

Desirable

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Certificate III in Companion Animal Services, or similar experience

- Experience using animal management databases such as ShelterBuddy
