About Cadia

Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we're looking for

Reporting to the Director People, Cadia,



the Lead People - Training partners with site stakeholders and the HR & Training team to drive the delivery of the Newmont Training Strategy. The role provides leadership to the client group in the planning, development and implementation of the Site Training Plan.

A key focus of this position is the execution of training programs and initiatives that meet industry, statutory and operational requirements, while ensuring consistency and alignment across client groups.

The Lead is also responsible for planning work activities and resource utilisation to achieve outcomes efficiently and effectively. This includes consulting with the Site Director, People and the broader Training team to regularly review training needs and develop schedules that prioritise business requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Identify Training Needs Analysis (reviewed annually at a minimum) to map training needs for all roles, and individual competencies against role requirements to determine critical and priority training areas with departments
- Develop learning and development programs and performance support material through designing innovative learning and assessment strategies to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of current learning practices, processes and systems
- Providing advice on a range of Training issues relating to employee learning needs, etc.
- Contributions to and analysis of compliance data.




- Compilation of reports, analysis of Training data, and recommending appropriate action to address emerging trends.
- Co-ordinate routine Training administrative functions, including providing advice/assistance to employees to complete routine Training paperwork or assist them with resolution of Training issues, e.g., incomplete training records, queries etc.
- Provision of appropriate support/training to site users of Training systems (e.g. LMS).
- Participation in the review, development and subsequent implementation of Corporate Training policies, procedures and processes
- Conduct regular audit and validation of training records.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability and possess proven operational experience in a heavy industry workplace.

You will also possess the following:

- Tertiary studies in Learning and Development or Training.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role.
- Experience in site based Training, or similar role.
- Demonstrated industry knowledge and experience - Mining / Heavy industry preferred.
- Understanding of the principles of learning analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary learning and development programs.

Please note this is a 5/2 residential role based in Orange, NSW. To be considered, applicants must have current and unrestricted working rights in Australia. The successful candidate will be required to reside in, or relocate to, the Orange region to fulfil the requirements of this residential position.
