Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Public Health Coordinator to coordinate daily activities of our Public Health community-based team and provide on-the-ground support and mentoring to Yolŋu staff across outreach programs in Milingimbi Community. This full-time fixed-term role (until 31 December 2026) can be based in Darwin or Nhulunbuy (no housing provided).
Successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits, including:
- Market-competitive salary of $111,217 - $124,332 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Ability to Salary Package up to $15,900pa plus a further $2,650pa on Meals and Entertainment

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards.
With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a strong understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, with an awareness of the challenges faced by YolÅ‹u people living in remote communities. You will have the ability to lead and supervise a team managing competing priorities in a remote setting, along with a willingness to live in or travel FIFO to Milingimbi. A current driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual 4WD is required.
