Heart Talent is delighted to partner with The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation to find a positive and pragmatic finance professional to join their collaborative, mission-led team.

For too long, women’s health has been under-resourced and overlooked. The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation raises funds to advance women’s health and medical science to improve the health outcomes of women and babies in our community and future generations.

Reporting to the CEO and working in a tight-knit team; the Finance and Operations Manager is a diverse role that blends day-to-day accounting tasks; financial management, reporting and governance; payroll and people and culture operations with support for operational governance.

About this opportunity

The purpose of this role is to ensure the organisation has the financial clarity, systems and operational foundations required to effectively deliver its mission.

Working closely with the CEO and a Board committee; you’ll play a critical role in supporting both the current operational needs of the organisation and contributing to future growth, ensuring financial integrity and sustainability.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day financial management while supporting sound governance, risk management and organisational operations.

This role blends hands-on financial management with oversight of reporting, compliance, people and culture processes,



and business systems in an evolving organisation.

You’ll be responsible for:

- day-to-day accounting and financial operations ie accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations and general ledger management

- accurate tracking of funding and grant acquittals

- preparing monthly management reports for the CEO and quarterly Board reports

- presenting financial results and insights at Board and Committee meetings

- leading the annual budgeting and financial planning process

- monitoring performance, managing forecasting and providing financial analysis to inform decision-making

- overseeing year-end accounts, audit processes and statutory reporting

- managing taxation obligations and investment reporting

- supporting strategic plan delivery through financial insight and performance tracking.

You’ll also oversee people and culture operations and support organisational governance and risk. Key responsibilities include:

- payroll processing and related compliance

- employee onboarding, contracts and documentation

- supporting the CEO with processes including probation, leave and contract changes

- maintaining accurate HR systems and records

- overseeing business insurance and selected operational administration

- supporting governance, in partnership with CEO, Board and Company Secretary

- maintaining organisational policies, controls and compliance frameworks

- managing the risk register and monitor emerging risks

- overseeing financial controls, accounting policies and cyber security governance

- supporting governance and risk management during systems and process change.

About you

We’d love you to bring:

- a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field

- experience across finance, operations and compliance in a small to medium business

- demonstrated proficiency in financial management and accounting practices

- demonstrated experience managing day-to-day accounting tasks in Xero

- experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems

- exceptional attention to detail, analytical skill and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

It would be wonderful if you also have:

- professional certifications e.g. CPA, CA (desirable)

- experience working with boards, auditors and company secretaries

- experience contributing to organisational policies, controls, risk management or compliance frameworks

- experience working through systems change, including embedding new financial or business systems and improving operational efficiency.
