Role Description
Commencing: Immediately
Position Status: Full Time, Fixed Term (2 years with possible extension)
Salary: $105,000*
*PLUS subsidised housing
An exciting prospect has emerged at the Shire of Merredin for a suitably qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to join our team. This role will sit within the Strategy & Community Directorate and will support the Executive Manager Strategy & Community (EMSC) to achieve strategic outcomes relative to the department.
The Environmental Health Officer is responsible for delivering professional environmental health services that support the Shire of Merredin’s statutory obligations across Health, Environment, and Waste Management functions, with some involvement in Building and Town Planning activities and applications.
The role provides specialist advice, assistance, and information, and reports to the EMSC, internal staff, elected members (where required), and the public, in relation to environmental health legislation, programs, and projects.
The position will be employed by the Shire of Merredin and, under an approved shared services arrangement, will deliver environmental health services to the Shires of Bruce Rock, Kellerberrin, and Yilgarn in accordance with agreed service levels and priorities.
