Educlean is a fast-growing, education-sector focused facilities services provider operating across multiple Australian states. We specialise exclusively in servicing schools and educational institutions and are known for our compliance-first, professional approach.

As we continue to scale, we are seeking a General Manager – Operations to lead national service delivery, protect contract tenure, and strengthen client stability across our portfolio.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

The Role

The General Manager – Operations is responsible for the performance, stability, and commercial protection of all operational delivery across the business.

You will oversee multi-site service delivery, lead Operations Managers, manage client escalations, and ensure contractual compliance across all agreements.

This role is both operational and commercial. It requires someone who can manage large service teams while confidently handling principals, CFOs, and senior stakeholders when performance matters arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all operational delivery across multiple sites and states

• Oversee and develop Operations Managers and Supervisors

• Ensure contractual cleaning specifications are consistently delivered

• Lead mobilisation of new contracts (first 60 days critical phase)

• Act as primary escalation point for major client concerns

• Manage service disputes, breach notices, and contract risk





• Implement structured QA and verification frameworks

• Maintain labour margin and operational efficiency

• Provide weekly operational and risk reporting to the Managing Director

About You

You are commercially mature, emotionally steady, and confident under pressure.

You have:

• 8+ years’ experience in facilities management, commercial cleaning, or multi-site service operations

• Experience managing large teams across multiple sites

• Demonstrated experience handling high-level client escalations

• Strong understanding of contracts and scope compliance

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to remain calm and structured during conflict

• A track record of stabilising underperforming contracts
