We are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer who combines commercial acumen with empathy — a leader capable of strengthening sustainability while honouring our mission and values.

- Leadership role with iconic WA organisation
- Experience in animal welfare is not essential but passion for it is
- Experienced CEOs from commercial environments would be highly welcome

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation encompassing inspectorate services, shelters, veterinary services, fundraising, retail operations, advocacy, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a clear strategic roadmap aligned to Board priorities
- Ensure financial sustainability and strong governance
- Lead and empower an experienced executive team
- Strengthen organisational culture, capability, and performance
- Enhance fundraising, partnerships, and community engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with government and regulatory bodies
- Uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and operational integrity

Successful candidates will have:





Commercial Capability

You are financially literate and commercially astute, with experience leading complex organisations through growth, reform, or turnaround. You understand revenue diversification, cost discipline, governance, and risk management — ideally in environments balancing mission with commercial reality.

Transformational Leadership

You have a leadership track record including successfully leading organisational change — whether cultural, structural, digital, or strategic — bringing people with you through clarity, communication, and authenticity. You are resilient, decisive, and outcomes-focused and are an excellent mentor and developer of teams.

Empathy & Values Alignment

You demonstrate emotional intelligence and a genuine connection to purpose-driven work. You can engage compassionately with staff, volunteers, inspectors, donors, and community stakeholders while making difficult decisions when required.

Stakeholder & Public Presence

You are an articulate and credible ambassador, comfortable engaging with government, regulators, media, corporate partners, and supporters. Experience within not-for-profit, public sector, regulated environments, or community services will be highly regarded.
