Position Overview

4C – Maitland Hospital’s Cardiac, Stroke & General Medical Unit seeks a Registered Nurse (Temporary Full time & Part Time) to join until January 2027 at Maitland Hospital. Employment Type: Temporary. Hours: Up to 38 per week. Remuneration: $37.48 – $52.62 per hour + superannuation. Applications close 19 January 2026.

About the Role

At 4C, you will deliver expert care for cardiac, stroke and general medical patients within a supportive, collaborative team environment. A typical day includes:

- Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs
- Collaborating closely with doctors, allied health professionals and fellow nurses
- Monitoring patients with cardiac and neurological conditions
- Administering medications, managing IV therapy and providing post‑stroke support
- Participating in ward rounds and family discussions

Essential Qualifications

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHCRA
- Strong work ethic and accountability
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Compassionate, patient‑focused care

Desirable Qualifications (Can Be Taught On‑the‑Job)

- Cardiac and stroke‑specific clinical skills
- Familiarity with hospital systems and routines

Support & Training





New staff receive an individualised orientation plan, supernumerary shifts and bedside teaching from a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE). Ongoing education, study days and opportunities to upskill in cardiac, stroke and general medical care are provided.
