Step into a role where your risk expertise directly shapes how our business operates and supports our members. As a Principal Business Risk Advisor, youll work in the first line, partnering closely with leaders across the business to help them make confident, risk aware decisions. Youll build trusted relationships, guide people through applying risk frameworks, and support strong risk behaviours as part of a collaborative and engaged team.

Youll also play a hands-on role in control testing, incident and issue management process, and enabling consistent risk practices across the organisationperfect for someone who enjoys influence, problem solving, and helping teams navigate complexity with clarity. This is a permanent full-time role based in Meanjin (Brisbane).

What You'll Do

- Partner with business leaders as a first line risk advisor, helping them identify, assess and manage risks and controls while embedding strong risk practices into day to day operations.
- Support, advocate for and guide the implementation of risk management policies, processes and requirements within the context of the Group Risk Management Framework.
- Collaborate with risk and compliance colleagues across Group Risk and other business lines to ensure a consistent approach and effective risk partnership.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management framework, practices and processes.
- Contribute to the teams readiness for system changes by helping stakeholders transition from current GRC systems (e.g., Protect) to IAGs future risk platform.
- Keep member and policyholder interests front of mind in all risk decision making, reporting and monitoring.

What You'll Bring





- 35 years experience in risk related roles, control testing, assurance or similar advisory roles.
- Solid working knowledge of risk management, and practical application of risk frameworks.
- An enquiring, analytical mindset with the ability to uncover issues and identify meaningful risk insights.
- Confident communication skills and the courage to speak up when needed, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, law, project/change, accounting/commerce or similar fields.
