Health and Safety Intern

Minimum Qualification / Requirements / Skills

Grade 12
National diploma / Degree in Health and Safety Management
Samtrac Qualification(Preferably Mining Samtrac) or COMSOC I and II
Driver's license (Essential)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation
Knowledge of Environmental related legislation would be advantageous
Examine and Make Safe - Competent Person A
ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method)
First Aid
Attention to Detail
Honest and Reliable
Self-Starter
Good Communication Skills
Adaptable to change
Must be able to work under pressure
Self-disciplined and motivated

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

Assist SHE team to oversee and manage day-today functions
Assist in developing, implementing, reviewing and improving company SHE policies, SOP's, COP's and risk assessments.




Schedule and attend weekly / monthly SHE meetings as well as committee meetings
Assist with workplace inspections, audits and address all findings
Conduct toolbox talks
Assist with Induction, SOP and COP training as required
