We’re now on the lookout for a hands-on, organised, and energetic Assistant Manager who can assist to lead our team and keep the good times (and great coffee) flowing.
As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll work side-by-side with the Management Team at OAR Lakeside — supporting day-to-day operations, motivating the team, and ensuring the venue runs at the high standard our guests expect.

What You’ll Be Doing
Operations & Service
Oversee daily service across both FOH & BOH to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Maintain OAR’s high standards for presentation, food quality, and guest experience.
Team Leadership
support a passionate front-of-house and kitchen team.
Recruit, train, and develop staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Foster a fun, professional, and positive team culture.
Financials & Systems
Manage rosters.
Track weekly and monthly performance targets.
Events & Promotions
Plan and coordinate special events, functions, and seasonal promotions.
Collaborate with marketing to boost community engagement and brand visibility.

About You
Proven experience Assistant Manager in a busy café/restaurant.
Strong barista skills — you know coffee and take pride in making it shine.
A confident, supportive leader who brings out the best in your team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Comfortable using POS, rostering, and reporting systems.
Flexible to work weekends and evenings.
Passionate about food, coffee, and creating memorable guest experiences.
