Administration Officer (Part-Time 24–30 hrs/week)

About the role

Sydney Metro Decking is a fast-growing outdoor construction company. We're looking for a capable Administration Officer to help build the systems and structure that support our continued growth.

- Part-time role (24–30 hours per week) supporting a busy, hands-on construction business based in the Sutherland Shire.

- Responsible for keeping the administrative side of the business running smoothly.

- Work closely with the Director and field team to coordinate jobs, schedules and office tasks.

- Build, improve and maintain systems and processes from the ground up as the business grows.

- Manage documentation, job tracking and day-to-day administration, including typing up quotes and invoicing.

- Provide HR support, basic bookkeeping and compliance assistance.

- Ideal for someone who is organised, accurate and proactive, and enjoys working independently while making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

- General administration – answering calls, data entry, filing and writing professional emails

- Operations support – ordering materials and assisting with supplier coordination

- Compliance documentation – submitting applications such as Home Owners Warranty and managing insurances.

- Job Management System – setting up, maintaining and improving job management systems (construction-specific).





- Human Resources – tracking leave entitlements, timesheets and payroll for a small team

- Bookkeeping support – sending invoices, processing payments and managing basic accounts administration

What we are looking for

Essential:

- Previous experience (minimum 3 years) as an Administration Officer, Office Administrator or similar within the construction industry.

- Intermediate computer skills including experience with Excel.

- Experience with construction-specific Job Management Systems is essential.

- Basic accounts payable/receivable experience (Xero, MYOB or similar).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

- Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet deadlines.
