As a Communications Coordinator within our Governance and Communications team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering high-quality communication to Swinburne students.
In this role, you will support the team in managing workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging information reaches our diverse student community across our service areas at Swinburne. You will also play a critical role alongside our Head of Partnerships/Sponsorships in shaping our brand within the corporate, government and community sectors.
You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of engagement activities while developing your organisational and stakeholder management skills in a higher education workplace.
What you'll be doing
- Leading a team with two staff (three in total) to deliver SSA’s communication and partnership program of work. Your work will play a key role in elevating SSA’s profile.
- Produce high-quality feature writing, reporting and digital content, while also supporting broader communication activities and our partnerships & sponsorships program of work.
- Oversee communications for a range of print and electronic publications including e-newsletters, social media and our websites.
- Prepare communications assets such as reports, collateral to both internal and external stakeholders showcasing the SSA
- Work collaboratively with the university to assist their communications requirements as needed.
What we're looking for
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related area.
- At least 3+ years experience in communications, with experience within a higher education institution, industry or government agency highly preferred.
- High-level proof-reading, editing, organisational and project management skills, including the ability to set, enforce and meet deadlines.
- High-level attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

The SSA is governed by a Board of Directors that exists to champion the student voice, creating opportunities for growth, leadership and community for students at Swinburne.
