About the role

Centum Tax and Accounting are seeking a skilled Assistant Accountant to join their team in Canning Vale, WA on a contract basis. In this role, you will be providing crucial support to our accounting and finance operations, working closely with the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the business.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and processing Individual Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements

2. Communicate effectively with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and clients to manage tax-related correspondence, requests, and follow-ups

3. Assisting with tax preparation, compliance and reporting

4. Providing administrative support to the accounting team

5. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of accounting systems and procedures

6. Undertaking special projects as required

What we're looking for

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related field

2. 1-2 years' experience in an assistant accountant or similar role

3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

4.



Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

5. Proficient in the use of accounting softwares Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
