Rockwell Livestock is a progressive, family-owned mixed farming operation, including cattle breeding, backgrounding and an accredited feedlot, as well as grain and hay production, near Merriwa in the Upper Hunter, NSW.

A permanent Overseer / Senior Station Hand position is available within a supportive, family-run environment that values flexibility and work–life balance. This role offers the opportunity to take on a higher level of responsibility, contribute to day-to-day decision making, while remaining hands-on with livestock and property operations.

The role includes new up-to-date onsite, fully furnished single/couple accommodation.

The successful applicant will need to:

• Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.

• MUST have experience.

• Be enthusiastic and motivated while working independently or as part of a small team.

• Have attention to detail and ability to follow feedlot protocols.





• Have pride in their work.

• Have a driver’s license and vehicle.

• Be an Australian resident.

• No 88-day VISAs.

Duties will include:

Feedlot; Mixing rations & feeding out, monitoring cattle welfare & health, administrating animal medication, daily recording, induction & dispatch of cattle, pen cleaning, general maintenance of machinery & feedlot.

Farm; General farm maintenance including stock water, fencing, welding, mustering (on quad bikes) & processing backgrounded cattle. Operating machinery including spreading, spraying, planting, haymaking and grain harvesting.

Assisting with the coordination of daily livestock and farm operations. Monitoring animal performance and communicating effectively with management to ensure operational goals are achieved.

The position is Monday to Friday, with some weekend work required. Wages will be paid in line with the applicant's experience with ongoing reward for performance and self-initiative.

‘Rockwell’ is located 20km from Merriwa where there are both primary and secondary schools.
