About the role
The 1860 Hotel is seeking a talented Commis Chef to join our team in Romsey, VIC 3434. This is a full-time role where you will play a key part in the day-to-day operations of our bustling kitchen, working with an experienced team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
What you'll be doing
- Work with the team in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals across a diverse menu
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient work environment in the kitchen
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to coordinate workflow and ensure timely service
- Participate in menu development and testing of new dishes
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
What we're looking for
- Formal culinary training or relevant experience working in a quick-paced hospitality environment
- Strong practical cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure to deliver high-quality dishes consistently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for creating delicious,
visually appealing food
- Proven commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
