The Local Policy team leads the delivery of Set up for Success: An Early Childhood Strategy for the ACT and drives other key local policy initiatives. Our work involves ensuring families have to access high quality early learning and supporting the early childhood education and care sector to thrive. Do you enjoy writing? Are you highly organised? A strategic thinker and excellent communicator? We’re looking for a motivated and professional officer to take on a quick-paced, varied role supporting the design and implementation of important early childhood initiatives in the ACT. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, exceptional written and organisational abilities, and a sound understanding of government processes. If you haven’t worked in policy before, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and broaden your experience. Knowledge and understanding of the early childhood sector, or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly is highly desirable. This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 10 months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is based within a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers do not have a designated workstation/desk. Our branch is currently working in a mixed-mode of at home and at the ACT Whole-Of-Government building at 220 London Circuit.
