About the position
Councils Community Strengthening Department is looking for a Recreation Development Officer who will be responsible for providing critical and targeted support to sporting clubs, associations and contract partners to support the delivery of high quality sport and recreation opportunities for the Frankston City community. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Building strong collaborative relationships with sporting clubs, contract partners and peak sporting associations
- Stakeholder capacity building
- Assisting in identifying and coordinating facility renewal works and capital works program proposals
- Provide advice on emerging recreation and leisure trends
About you
- A demonstrated understanding of community sport and recreation trends
- Exceptional relationship building skills
- A demonstrated ability to identify and deliver club capacity improvements
- A clear understanding of club governance principles
- Practical knowledge of the management and delivery of sport through peak bodies and clubs
- Contract management principles and frameworks
- Previous experience in developing specifications and in tendering/procurement
- Relevant tertiary qualification in sport/leisure/recreation or related field

This position is a Band 6A currently remunerated at $100,338.36 per annum, plus superannuation.
