About the Opportunity

Join Fairfield Hospital as a Clinical Coding Leader and take charge of managing all aspects of coding operations. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure timely and accurate submission of APDC and coded data in line with NSW Ministry of Health standards, while driving initiatives that guarantee our data reflects the true quality of care delivered. Your leadership will empower clinical units and management with accessible, reliable information for analysis and decision-making.

From conducting audits and training staff to developing casemix education programs, your expertise will support high-quality, personalised care for our community. Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Clinical Coders.
- Ensure APDC and coded data is submitted according to relevant NSW Ministry of Health timeframes.
- Lead coding and casemix initiatives that ensure Fairfield Hospital coded data accurately reflects patient care within the appropriate guidelines.




- Ensure coded data is analysed and accessible to clinical units and management for analysis and is supported by accurate and relevant clinical documentation.

Qualifications





- Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management/Medical Record Administration (or equivalent as deemed by the organisation).
- Demonstrated high level clinical coding knowledge and experience using ICD-10-AM, the Australian Coding Standards and the 3M Encoder.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in casemix, development of data/information reports and quality improvement activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in complying with the NSW Health Privacy Manual, with a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
