Generalist Social Worker

Remuneration : $76,364 - $108,943 per annum + super

Where You'll Be Working

The Cessnock Social Worker is part of the Cessnock Kurri Kurri Social Work team. This position works from Cessnock House on the grounds of Cessnock Hospital. It works with the Cessnock District Hospital (CDH) multidisciplinary team with strong alliance to the Lower Hunter Allied Health team.

About The Role

This Social Work position works across all wards within CDH including Medical, Surgical and Emergency Department. Social work receives referrals through the Electronic Journey Board. The focus is providing psychosocial interventions to patients in CDH. Social work will undertake psychosocial assessment, conduct family meetings, complete applications for Guardianship and support NDIS responses.

The role is supported by the Lower Hunter Head of Social Work. The Line manager is the HOD of Social Work. Monthly supervision is essential. The position sits in the Lower Hunter Social Work Department which meets monthly. Ongoing professional development is encouraged and supported through the Lower Hunter Allied Health Department.

About You

The position requires a social worker who can work independently without direct supervision. Must have psychosocial assessment skills. Must have a current driver’s licence and be prepared to travel across the region to meetings. May also be required to be part of a weekend social work roster.

Requirements





- Must hold at least a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
