About the Prospect
We are seeking a Bar Supervisor to coordinate the Bar services function for performances and events at WAAPA. Under the broad direction of the Ticketing and Events Coordinator, this position will manage a team of casual and student bar staff to deliver bar services during performances. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure first class customer service at the front-face of WAAPA.
You will be an excellent communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, taking great pride in your ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will be highly organised and methodical, preparing thoroughly for performance seasons. You will also enjoy using your highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and devise mutually beneficial solutions.
Weekend and evening shift work is required in this role.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a positive, amiable demeanour with a genuine passion for the arts and student training. You will have proven experience managing a bar with a team of staff, and you will have a genuine curiosity and desire to actively improve business processes.
**You will be able to demonstrate**:
Experience supervising and motivating a team to provide consistent, proactive and excellent customer service.
The ability to plan and co-ordinate schedules and rosters, in compliance with organisational and external policies, processes and standards;
A thorough understanding of, and excellence in, the practices, systems and procedures of providing bar services including managing inventory purchase, receipting and delivery
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and network effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to work autonomously, take direction and motivate self and team members in a busy environment when managing competing priorities and deadlines.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.
