Housed in a striking Italian Renaissance building with palatial Art Deco sentiments; Morris has found new life as an evocative bar and boutique 82-room hotel. The hotel will feature a chic ground-floor wine bar focusing on Australian and Italian wines.

We are seeking a Demi Chef to join our renowned team at Hotel Morris, a unique experience nestled in Haymarket.

Job Description

- Assist Head Chef and Chef de Partie with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
- Ability to work independently on shift.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control for all food and beverage outlets
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and related outlets
- Be a leader for the team by setting a positive example
- Supervision of kitchen in the absence of the Head chef or allocated Chefs.



Delegate duties and responsibilities to kitchen employees to ensure service demands are met.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel industry
- Leadership experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Demonstrated experience with dietary requirements and creating menus to suit those needs
- Solid knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP management, and compliance with local health and safety regulations
- A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is desired
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Creative culinary mind, up to date on local and international food trends
- Ability to work closely with suppliers to source the best quality products
- High levels of organization and time management skills

Additional Information

Hotel Morris is a 82 rooms hotel opened in June 2023.

We have a small team with 'family' mentality where we help each other.

Successful candidate for this role, can speak English and has a similar experience and passionate about making a guest smile and having a clean room and leading your own team on the weekend when our housekeeping manager is away or if she is on leave.

You MUST be able to work flexible roster and weekends.
