We are seeking a positive and team orientated Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the team at our manufacturing facility in Burleigh Heads.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-performance products that meet strict engineering requirements and customer specifications. As our operations and engineering activities continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our growing team for an immediate start. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Burleigh Heads, Queensland.

The Mechanical Engineering Technician will be responsible for the following duties:

- Conducting a wide range of mechanical material tests including compression, tension, density and performance assessments of foam materials and engineered components to support engineering analysis and product development.
- Setting up, operating and maintaining CNC cutting equipment, fabrication machinery, automated conversion systems and assembly equipment to support engineering and manufacturing activities.
- Assisting Mechanical Engineers in the design, modification and optimisation of machinery,



tooling and production systems to meet plant engineering and operational requirements.
- Performing field and laboratory tests of mechanical systems, collecting and analysing test data, and preparing technical reports, diagrams and documentation for engineering review.
- Assembling, installing, adjusting and commissioning mechanical assemblies, components and system modifications on production and prototyping equipment.
- Supporting continuous improvement and engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency, process stability, product quality and workplace safety.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and equipment performance issues, conducting root-cause investigations and implementing corrective or preventive actions under engineer direction.
- Selecting and preparing appropriate tools, test equipment, gauges and measurement devices required for engineering tests, mechanical assembly and production support.
- Estimating material quantities, machine utilisation and equipment requirements, and contributing to production planning and workflow optimisation.
- Ensuring all mechanical work, testing and installations comply with engineering specifications, tolerances, standards, regulations and customer requirements.
- Assisting engineering staff with CAD/CAM development and preparation of tooling, jigs, fixtures and engineered inserts used in foam-based manufacturing.




- Supporting quality assurance processes by inspecting mechanical parts, prototypes and production samples, and recording data for engineering evaluation.
- Coordinating preventative maintenance tasks and overseeing inspection schedules for plant machinery and mechanical equipment to minimise downtime.

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology or a related field; OR at least three years of relevant experience in a mechanical engineering, manufacturing or testing environment.
- Experience in mechanical testing, quality inspection or laboratory testing environment (highly regarded).
- Experience operating or maintaining production machinery, CNC machines or mechanical systems.
- Minimum 3+ years of CNC machine operating experience is required.
- Robust understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, materials and engineering drawings.
- Ability to collect, analyse and document technical data accurately.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
