This role sits within the Service Delivery Executive Office and reports to the Executive Director, Service Delivery.
About this role
The Principal Business Analyst plays a critical role in shaping Service Delivery's strategic direction and financial planning. You will lead performance tracking, provide expert analysis, and drive budget planning and consolidation to support informed decision making across the division. Working closely with the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team, you'll deliver insights that align priorities with broader Service NSW (SNSW) and Department of Customer Service (DCS) strategies
Key Accountabilities
- Align Service Delivery priorities with SNSW and DCS strategies, and coordinate contributions by collaborating with other Support Office functions.
- Provide strategic and financial insights by analysing Service Delivery performance, preparing regular budget and performance reports, and compiling budget requirements for BAU and new funding bids in collaboration with DCS Finance and NSW Treasury.
- Deliver proactive advice to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team on performance and budget risks.
- Undertake specialist analysis for complex or non-BAU issues requiring discretion and strategic judgment.
Your day-to-day:
- Lead the development and delivery of performance analysis, reporting, and strategic insights to inform executive decision-making.
- Drive alignment of Service Delivery priorities with organisational and government strategies.
- Manage complex projects and initiatives, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation to achieve strategic objectives.
- Research and prepare high level advice and reports on diverse policy, planning, and operational matters.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and drive collaboration.
- Provide expert advice and solutions to emerging issues and change initiatives, ensuring minimal risk to the organisation
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in data analysis, performance reporting, and strategic planning.
- Strong ability to provide expert advice and insights to senior executives and stakeholders.
- Proven capability in managing complex projects and delivering results under tight timeframes.
- Advanced skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing outcomes.
- High level problem solving and critical thinking skills to develop practical, innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in using data visualisation tools and leveraging technology to maximise efficiency.
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $162296 base plus superannuation.
