The prospect

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support a major international mining operation on an expat roster. The role is responsible for ensuring all fixed and mobile plant maintenance activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and executed to maximise asset reliability and operational uptime. Strong SAP capability and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

What the role entails:

- Develop and manage maintenance plans, schedules, and work orders for fixed and mobile plant assets using SAP.
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, operations, supply chain, and contractors to ensure all materials, tooling, permits, and labour are available ahead of execution.
- Review, prioritise, and scope incoming maintenance requests, converting them into well-defined work orders.
- Support shutdown and major maintenance planning activities.
- Track job progress, analyse deviations, and ensure accurate close-out in SAP.




- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance planning workflows, scheduling efficiency, and execution readiness.
- Analyse maintenance performance data and backlog trends to recommend process improvements.
- Implement enhancements to SAP master data, maintenance strategies, and task lists to drive reliability.

What you will need:

- Relevant experience in maintenance planning within mining or heavy industrial operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP.
- Experience planning for fixed plant and mobile equipment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multicultural teams.
- Strong understanding of maintenance principles, reliability concepts, and inventory/supply chain interactions.
