Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role involves the sanding and polishing of aluminum bumpers and bull bars for the truck and bus industry and various aluminum and stainless-steel components.





This position is ideally suited to an experienced Metal Polisher that can use sanders, grinders, and buffs safely and competently or alternatively for a Trades Assistant who possesses experience in utilizing power tools

Key Accountabilities

- Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.

- Use a variety of methods, abrasives, air powered tools and equipment to safely and efficiently grind and polish metal materials to meet required results.

- Sand and polish bumper, bull bars and associated components

- Understand sanding and polishing safety and apply this to work duties

- Visually be able to inspect parts and determine issues and defects

- File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications.

- Understand polishing safety and apply this to work duties

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience: Previous sanding and polishing experience s ideal.

- Experience with trucks/trailers is a plus.

- Mindset: A proactive, punctual, and team-oriented individual who can prioritize tasks effectively and work to instruction.

- Skills: Ability to safely and productive operate a pedestal polisher

- Legal rights to work in Australia
