Join Our Team – Shelter Cattery Attendant

Position: Shelter Cattery Attendant

Location: Coldstream

Contract: Part-Time

Hourly rate: $26.96 p/h + weekend penalties + super

Available shifts: Monday to Sunday: 9am – 5pm or 8am – 4pm
Minimum 3 shifts per week with alternating weekend work

About the Role

In our fast-paced Shelter Cattery, every day is different. You’ll be part of a caring and committed team that works hard to ensure our cats are happy, healthy, and on the path to finding their forever homes.

You’ll be doing things like:

- Helping cats feel safe, seen, and settled

- Supporting the day-to-day tasks that keep our cattery clean, calm, and well-run

- Assisting with feeding, cleaning, and monitoring wellbeing

- Meeting potential adopters and helping them connect with the right feline match

- Collaborating with our vet and behaviour teams to deliver consistent, quality care

- Staying on track with daily routines and time management targets

This role suits someone who thrives with structure, enjoys ticking things off a list, and finds joy in working as part of a team with purpose.

About You





We’re looking for a mature, team-focused thinker - someone who can bring their love for cats and apply it with care, systems, and consistency.

You’ll bring:

- Confidence around cats and a grasp of basic feline behaviour

- A steady, reliable approach with a willingness to learn and follow processes

- The ability to work at pace while staying organised and calm under pressure

- A collaborative spirit and a positive, can-do attitude

- Brings genuine warmth and empathy when assisting people and animals

- Flexibility and availability across weekdays and weekends

This is a physically active role that includes cleaning, lifting, and time spent on your feet.
