Identity & Access Engineer (MIM Expert) (Canberra)

We're currently supporting a requirement for a skilled Identity & Access Engineer to join a Platform Services team within a federal department. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and contemporary identity services, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM).

Work location : Canberra/Hybrid, remote options can be considered on a case to case basis

Type of work : Contract with Baseline Security clearance

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain enterprise identity platforms including MIM and Unify Broker

Troubleshoot identity/access issues and support HR system integrations

Improve IAM workflows and security configurations

Collaborate across infrastructure, cyber security, HR and app teams

Contribute to IAM strategy, governance and roadmap activities





Produce high-quality documentation and support team upskilling

Assist with Privileged Access Management tools such as CyberArk or Secret Server

Essential Requirements:

5+ years' expert-level experience with MIM, Unify Broker, PowerShell automation and Entra ID

Strong understanding of access governance in complex government environments

Proven experience mentoring and upskilling team members

Desirable:

Awareness of cyber security tools such as whitelisting, host firewalls, vulnerability scanners, device control
