About the role
GreaterDandenong Libraries is one of the busiest library services in Victoria and isexperiencing a period of growth and chance for the Library Service.
Anexciting opportunity is currently available for a Library Service Officer (Home Library Service) to join the Greater Dandenong Libraries team, which sitswithin the Creative and Engaged City department.
Youwill work as part of a team responsible for providing effective library andinformation services to all library users in our diverse community.
Thisincludes facilitating inclusive and equitable access to resources forindividuals unable to access the library in person.
Ourteam works across our various library branches and conducts outreach visits toindividuals in the City of Greater Dandenong.
About you
- CertificateIV in Library and Information Science or equivalent, or alternatively, demonstratedcustomer service experience with an understanding of positive customerservice principles.
- Experienceworking in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment.
- Well-developedInformation Technology skills, including experience in troubleshooting ofcomputer and mobile technologies and the online environment.
- Experiencein delivering programs to adults.
- Knowledgeand understanding of authors, books, and the importance of the library'srole in supporting literacy.
- Confidencein driving vans and other work vehicles, to help us safely deliver to andconnect with vulnerable members of our community.
The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to an national police check.
