Are you an experienced Payroll Officer with a strong background in the construction industry? Our client, a well-established and reputable construction business in Western Sydney, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive payroll professional to join their team.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the nuances of construction payroll, and can confidently manage end-to-end payroll functions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll for weekly and fortnightly cycles
- Process employee timesheets, allowances, RDOs, overtime, and site-specific conditions
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, EBAs, and construction industry legislation
- Maintain accurate employee records and handle payroll queries Liaise with HR, site managers, and finance teams
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end processes
- Support process improvements and payroll system optimisation
About You:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer within the construction industry (essential)
- Strong understanding of construction awards, EBAs, and site-based payroll complexities
- High attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy
- Proficient with payroll systems (e.g., MYOB, Chris21, ADP, or similar)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport across the business
- A proactive approach with robust problem-solving ability
