About the Role
As a Workplace Relations Adviser, you’ll contribute to the delivery of high-quality industrial and workplace relations services across a diverse range of clients.
Working closely with senior advisers and the Director of Workplace Relations Advisory, you’ll provide legal and advisory support, contribute to research and documentation, and help represent clients before key regulatory bodies — all while sharpening your technical and client-facing skills.

Key responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate advice on IR/WR matters under supervision
- Research and draft content for contracts, policies,
enterprise agreements, and compliance issues
- Support senior team members in dispute resolution, tribunal matters, and investigations
- Assist with project delivery and maintain accurate client service records
- Represent AREEA at client meetings, member events, and relevant industry forums
- Contribute to team culture, knowledge sharing, and internal process improvement
- Actively participate in training and professional development
- Collaborate on proposals, member engagement, and business development activities
About You
- Early in your workplace relations or employment law career and looking to expand your experience in a fast-moving, high-impact environment
- Enjoy problem-solving, working with clients, and learning from senior mentors; bring professionalism, initiative, and strong attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in law, industrial relations, HR, or a related discipline (or nearing completion)
- 1–3 years’ experience in workplace relations, employment law, or a related advisory setting
- Understanding of the Fair Work Act, awards, and agreements
- Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Cooperative approach with strong organisational skills
- Experience in the resource, energy, or construction sectors
- Exposure to advisory, member-based, or legal environments
