About the TeamThe Corporate Division at the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) delivers strategic and operational support across the department. As Advisor (Correspondence), you'll work closely with the Deputy Director-General (Corporate), Principal Advisor, and senior stakeholders to ensure high-quality communication and documentation that supports government and departmental priorities. You'llcollaborate across teams and external organisations to drive effective engagement and outcomes.

Role Responsibilities- Engage Stakeholders: Build strong relationships across the division, department,and external bodies to support efficient operations and resolve issues.- Manage Correspondence: Draft, edit, and coordinate ministerial, executive, and Cabinet-related documents. Ensure compliance with government standards and deadlines.- Quality Assurance: Conduct checks to maintain high standards in written materials and identify opportunities for process improvement.- Inbox & Workflow Oversight: Manage the Deputy Director-General's inbox, coordinate responses,
and maintain accurate records.- Support Procurement: Review and advise on divisional procurement documentation, ensuring alignment with procedures.- Ensure Compliance: Uphold departmental policies and legislative requirements in all correspondence.- Train & Develop Resources: Provide training on correspondence systems and contribute to templates and style guides.
Skills & Experience- Exceptional Writing Skills: Ability to produce clear, accurate, and audienceappropriate documents.- Strong Organisation: Capable of managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.- Stakeholder Engagement: Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.- Analytical Thinking: Skilled in interpreting complex information and identifying inconsistencies.- Government Knowledge: Familiarity with Queensland Government protocols and processes.- Technical Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office and correspondence tracking systems.- Professionalism: Committed to ethical standards, personal development, and delivering quality outcomes.
